During this Lenten Season, IHM will have a live-streamed evening reflection series titled LIGHT A CANDLE. It will occur on Wednesday evenings (February 24, March 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31) from 7 to 8 PM. It will be accessible on our website homepage and parish Facebook page.
The setting is the altar in the church. It will include a candle lighting, music from members of our parish, a reading and reflection by Deacon Steve, Benediction and a time of personal and communal prayer. It will last one hour, although it is designed in parts (7-7:25 introduction, candle lighting, reading and reflection; 7:25-7:35 benediction; 7:35-8 prayer and conclusion) so that you may participate to the extent that you can make the time. At the time the candle is lit, you are invited to light your own candle (preferably purple). We invite you to participate in prayer and in the presence of the Holy Eucharist to take a moment outside of Sunday Mass to rest and ponder the light that is our Lord Jesus Christ during this Lenten Season. We hope you can join us.
Catholic Worker House
Much more than a house
In January 1982, the St. John of the Cross Catholic Worker House (CWH), was established. St. John dedicated his life to helping the homeless and poor around him. Today, the mission of Catholic Worker House continues to reach out to those in need by providing breakfast and a warm dinner daily, along with connecting residents with community resources for education, employment, healthcare and social services.
During Lent, we focus on Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving. Jesus teaches that giving alms includes making the needs of others our own, especially the needy of our world. Please consider supporting the Redwood City Catholic Worker House through your generous donation.

One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the Lord,
And He will repay him for his good deed.
Proverbs 19:17
This Lent, Dr. Scott Hahn is hosting a virtual Scripture study that will help open our eyes to the beauty and wonder of the Mass. The St. Paul Center is offering it for free during Lent!
It's called Parousia: The Bible and the Mass. You can sign up now to watch all ten episodes for free at StPaulCenter.com.
It will deepen our love and appreciation for the Eucharist by showing us that all the promises of Scripture are fulfilled in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Once we see that the Mass is the fulfillment of Scripture and Scripture points to—and is at home in—the liturgy, our whole faith makes sense.
Sign up to watch for free, and please, invite your loved ones. Let's bring as many people back to the Mass with us as possible.
Fr. Rufino Gepiga is offering an online course on Prayer from the Catechism of the Catholic Church. This course will be via Zoom on Thursdays from 7pm - 8:30 pm. Please contact Terri Craib at the Parish Office to sign up (office@ihmbelmont.org or 650-593-6157). Zoom links will be sent to all registered.
Fr. Rufino will be using Catechism of the Catholic Church. If you need a copy, the book is available for purchase ($10) in the Rectory.
