During its long history the Church has experienced many trials. Yet the successors of the apostles and the Christian Faithful have always looked to Jesus to calm all storms and bring us His peace. What Jesus did then He promises to continue to do for us now in the Church of our time. For this we pray!

Romans 8:31-32 If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son but handed Him over for us all, how will He not also give us everything else along with Him? Mark 9:7 Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them; from the cloud came a voice, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to Him.”

During these first days of Lent we have had a chance to put into effect our spiritual battle plan.

On Ash Wednesday, February 14, this coming week, the Catholic Church throughout the world will begin the solemn season of prayer, fasting, penance, and almsgiving known as Lent.
