My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The last two weeks of Lent have been traditionally called Passiontide. Passion tide begins on the Monday after the Fifth Sunday of Lent and continues through Good Friday. I am sharing with you our Parish Mission Statement that I presented to our Parish Pastoral Council a few months ago: Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish is in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church. By the grace of Jesus Christ, we are the People of God, the Body of Christ. We strive to be faithful to this covenant:
By adhering to and living out the authentic teachings of the Lord and His Church (cf. Catechism of the Catholic Church),
By committing ourselves to learn, teach, and hand on the Catholic Faith,
By being good shepherds, strong Catholic leaders,
By responding to our vocation to lead holy lives,
By taking up the Cross daily, laying down our lives in love of God and neighbor.
We take confidence in the knowledge that we are faithful to this covenant because of God’s abundant love and grace. These last two weeks of Lent are the holy time to take a strong stand for Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and His Holy Catholic Church. What happened then is happening now. With whom do you stand? Yours in the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Fr. Mark G. Mazza, Pastor
