My dear Parishioners and Friends in the Risen Lord,
As I write these few words on Easter Monday, I am filled with gratitude for all that you do for this sliver of the Kingdom of God. For over seventy-five years this parish and its devoted people have stood tall to give witness to the loving Savior in so many ways. Holding our heads high we march forward. The good Lord Jesus is counting on every one of us. I understand my thanks are so very inadequate.
Your prayers have brought a good result for IHM school. At the Easter Sunday Masses, you heard me speak of a sizable bequest that has recently been given to the school. The donors request that it be used only for the school and only for continuing to develop its math and science programs. We are grateful beyond measure. God is good.
Clearly the good Lord is smiling down on us during these difficult times. Mary, our dear Mother through her Immaculate Heart, I imagine, had a big smile when she saw my startled face with tears of joy.
Please do all you can to promote IHM school. Dr. Andrea Harville will begin her fifth year as principal. She recently received her Doctorate degree in Education from Indiana University. We have an excellent school. Now is the time to register children for the 2024-2025 school year. Please get the word out to all.
A recent survey says that in San Mateo County many are afflicted by loneliness. Let us do our best and do our bit to change that through a parish and school that radiates Faith, Hope, and Love.
Micah 6:8 - “What is good has been explained to you; this is what Yahweh asks of you: only this, to act justly, to love tenderly and to walk humbly with your God.”
Yours in the Risen Lord, Fr. Mark G. Mazza, Pastor
