Parish Vocations Committee

“Heed the Call” Sunday 2001

...started a prayer campaign for vocations. Each week, a family or individual will take the “Heed the Call” bell home and pray for vocations during that week. We invite all parishoners to participate: contact information for sign-ups is on a card by the bell. Instructions and prayer cards are also by the bell.

Our parish formed a Parish Vocations Committee in 1999.

This page is for archival purposes only.

The task of the Committee is threefold:
  1. To promote awareness of religious vocations in our Catholic community.
  2. To pray for Church vocations and organize parish prayer services for this intention.
  3. To periodically surface names of potential candidates for Church vocations and personally invite them to consider this special call.

The members of the Committee have already attended a training workshop on vocations offered by our Archdiocesan Office of Vocations. They will be sponsoring information opportunities.

If you know of someone who would like to begin the discernment process for a possible Church vocation, please contact the committee by calling the rectory.

If you would like to participate on the committee or get more information, please contact the parish office.

“This is what Yahweh asks
of you, only this:
to act justly,
to love tenderly, and
to walk humbly with
your God.”
        - Micah 6
Creator God,
Life is your gift to me,

Through Baptism, you invite me to share the gift of my life in service to others.

Be with me as I choose each day to show Your presence in our world.

Give me the courage and generosity to respond to Your love, to Your call.

I pray especially for those who serve you as priests, brothers, sisters, deacons and lay ministers.

Keep them close to you. Open the minds and hearts of many other men and women that they may accept Your challenge to build the Kingdom.

Prayer: Roseann Kasayka, OSF

Show Me
The Path Of Life

       - Acts 2:28

Loving God,
You gift us with life.

Through Baptism You have
called us to new life.

May we be a sign of Your
love in the world.

We pray that You will
continue to fill women and
men with an abundance of courage
to follow the path you set before
them today.

May those who feel compelled
to serve as lay ministers,
brothers, sisters and priests
be blessed with passion and
vision to make the world a
better place. We ask this
in the name of Jesus.

Amen.

Prayer: Marie Scott, C.S.A.
